Day 30.
Gosh, I have so many exciting things to share. I'll begin with the most important.
At the beginning of our DTS, we had 14 students and 13 of us were Christians. As of yesterday, ALL 14 OF US ARE CHRISTIANS! So if you're reading this and you're a Christian, you can rejoice because we have a new brother in Christ. :D
On the flipside of that, although we now have 14 Christians in our DTS, this weekend we may have as few as 9. The final deadline for school fees is this Friday, because they are going to begin purchasing our tickets for outreach then. There are 5 students who have not yet been able to pay their school fees. If they don't have the money to go on outreach, it doesn't make sense for them to continue studying at this school, because it's all geared towards outreach, so if God does not provide for them by Friday, they will be dismissed from school. We've all been fundraising a lot over the last couple of weeks and God has already been really faithful. Originally, we lacked about $20,000 in school fees, and as of this morning, we only need $7,000 more.
We've been praying a lot about it and we know God can bring in the funds. It's just a question of whether or not completing this school and going on outreach is in God's plan for everyone here right now. I'll let you know on Friday.
On a completely different note, every Wednesday we have "family dinner" and this week it was my turn to cook with my friend Junell. We made barbecue chicken, mashed potatoes, mac 'n cheese, grilled asparagus, corn bread, and corn on the cob. Everyone loved it. I loved it. It tasted so much like home. :)
Also, I'm learning so much new Chinese everyday! That's all.
"After forty days Noah opened a window he had made in the ark and sent out a raven, and it kept flying back and forth until the water had dried up from the earth. Then he sent out a dove to see if the water had receded from the surface of the ground. But the dove could find nowhere to perch because there was water over all the surface of the earth; so it returned to Noah in the ark. He reached out his hand and took the dove and brought it back to himself in the ark. He waited seven more days and again sent out the dove from the ark. When the dove returned to him in the evening, there in its beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf! Then Noah knew that the water had receded from the earth."~Genesis 8:6-11
