"After forty days Noah opened a window he had made in the ark and sent out a raven, and it kept flying back and forth until the water had dried up from the earth. Then he sent out a dove to see if the water had receded from the surface of the ground. But the dove could find nowhere to perch because there was water over all the surface of the earth; so it returned to Noah in the ark. He reached out his hand and took the dove and brought it back to himself in the ark. He waited seven more days and again sent out the dove from the ark. When the dove returned to him in the evening, there in its beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf! Then Noah knew that the water had receded from the earth."~Genesis 8:6-11

我爱中文 I LOVE CHINESE!

Day 24.

The Chinese language is the most popular language in the world.  It is spoken by 1/5th of the world.  It is a tonal language (supposedly because the originators wanted it to sounds like singing), but even more beautiful than the way it sounds are its characters.  They are created in many different ways.  Originally, they were made by drawing pictures of the word they described.

Today, in class, we watched a video.  It is a preacher talking about the origin of a few of the first Chinese characters ever created and the characters themselves tell the stories of what happened before the first people migrated to China in 2500 BC.  Adam (the first man) was alive a mere 1600 years before China's history began.  This is actually a relatively short amount of time when you consider that Adam lived for over 900 years.  So basically, this shows how the first Chinese people ever wrote Bible stories within their very words before the Bible even started being written down.  IT'S CRAZY.

It's about an hour long video, but if you're short on time, the first 10 minutes is enough to get the point across.  It's absolutely unbelievable.
